We Break the Sword: The Nazi Peace of 1940, by Michael A. Aquino Ph.D.

MindWar is the art and science of resolving international political and military crises through the application of Psychological Control (PSYCON) techniques to the electromagnetic architecture of the human brain, replacing violent irrationality with constructive and cooperative creativity. The result is the elimination of the bloodshed of conventional physical war (PhysWar). The author's 2013 book MindWar_ introduced and detailed this methodology. We Break the Sword is one of a series of theoretical case studies of how MindWar could have been applied to various historical conflicts, in this case the European theater of World War II in 1940. It also addresses prevention of the subsequent development of atomic warfare, delaying if not eliminating that worldwide international danger. An "alternative history" of what might have come to pass - instead of the horrors that did.

About the Author

Non-fictional books by Dr. Aquino generally fall into three categories: historical, practical, and initiatory.

Historical works include The Neutron Bomb (a study of the domestic and foreign politics surrounding the proposed NATO introduction of that weapon in 1977-8) and Extreme Prejudice (a documentary exposé of the 1986-7 “Satanic ritual abuse” scam at the Presidio of San Francisco.

Two other [2-volume] books - The Church of Satan and The Temple of Set - are not only histories but initiatory analyses as well, examining the philosophical and metaphysical concepts which define and energize those religious institutions.

As one of the U.S. Army’s extremely rare Political-Military Affairs Officers [with credentials in Strategic & Space Intelligence, Psychological Operations, Special Forces, Civil Affairs, Defense Attaché, and Foreign Area Officer], Dr. Aquino has also introduced the practical application of “MindWar” as a methodology for reducing, if not eliminating contemporary humanity’s obsession with and reliance upon murderous, destructive conventional war (PhysWar”). His 2013 book MindWar introduces this solution and outlines its successive stages of implementation.

Finally a purely-initiatory work, MindStar, addresses the purely-metaphysical “soul” of human thought which MindWar [as a practical curriculum] omits, confronting the elusive questions of human divinity and immortality.

Unsurprisingly Dr. Aquino’s fictional ventures - We Break the Sword, FireForce, and Morlindalë (“authored” by The One Ring) - all draw upon extensive political and philosophical principles in their telling. Both FireForce and Morlindalë utilize the literary technique of parody in a serious, rather than humorous exploration and extrapolation of the original source.

Additionally Dr. Aquino has recovered and Edited a collection of childhood poems by his mother, Betty Ford: Pegasus in Pinfeathers.

All of these books are available on Amazon in both printed paperback and Kindle ebook editions.

and the like in the course of my research into the connection ...
By Peter
There are those who will have strong opinions about this book before even reading it. I get it. If anyone should have an adverse reaction to the proposal offered in We Break the Sword by Michael A. Aquino it would be me. I've written and published on the theme of Nazis and their survival after the war for the past 22 years, ever since Unholy Alliance Unholy Alliance: A History of Nazi Involvement with the Occult. And I've met Nazis, neo-Nazis, and the like in the course of my research into the connection between religion and politics since at least 1978, if not earlier. By way of full disclosure, I have also met Dr. Aquino; interviewed him; and even wrote about him in Unholy Alliance. I say all this by way of prologue rather than self-promotion.

Aquino shares with us his opinion of what would have happened if, at a crucial moment in history, Adolf Hitler decided it would be more advantageous to the Reich to cut a peace deal with his enemies after first coming to terms with his allies than it would to continue to prosecute the war. There have been a number of "what-if" treatments like this -- The Man in the High Castle The Man in the High Castlecomes to mind -- but this is different. This is not about what would have happened if Hitler had won the war, but if he had chosen to end it peacefully.

Those who think that Hitler would never have chosen such a peace are in good company. We have been taught -- and not without some justification -- that Hitler glorified war, detested Russians, Slavs, Jews, Gypsies, and other untermenschen, and that he believed the conquering of all Europe and then Russia by Germany was a historical inevitability.

But what if ... what if the Nazis had found Atlantis? What if they had mastered a kind of non-violent alternative to violent war, the kind of war that Aquino writes about so eloquently in his MindWarMindWar, a book based on his own research and experience with something called Psychological Control? Aquino and John Alexander -- both career military men, retired -- were advocates of non-lethal warfare technologies. This concept comes alive in We Break the Sword, and winds up involving everything from Die Glocke (the famous "Bell") to the Philadelphia Experiment. As such, it is not only a "what-if" about a historical event, but it is also a gentle tease about the existence of Nazi superweapons and their utilization in the present day by governments around the world. It discusses in narrative form some of the ideas present in MindWar, giving them a context that enables us to "see" some of them in action.

There are those who will react rather viscerally to a characterization of Hitler as a brilliant strategic thinker, calm speaker, and moreover someone who saw the benefits of restraint and negotiation. I think, and this is purely my opinion as someone who has covered a lot of the same ground (both literally and figuratively) as Dr. Aquino, that this startling portrayal of the Fuehrer as a worldly statesman and beloved leader of a New Germany and a New Europe (probably the most "science fiction" aspect of the whole book!) will serve to force us out of our complacent attitude towards the canned history we have been spoon-fed since birth and ask us to reconsider historical events, persons, and ideas from fresh perspectives. That doesn't mean we will wind up nodding our heads in sage agreement with Aquino's portrayal of a reasonable Fuehrer, but it will cause us to wonder if ever we have been told the whole truth about World War Two and its aftermath.

We are fast approaching a point in human history and development where esoteric ideas meet high technology. The coming Singularity may well be understood best by those who have labored in the vineyard of occultism as well as of cybernetics. We know that Dr. Aquino (Ph.D. in political science, UCSB) was associated for a long time with the Temple of Set; we also know he labored for a long time with the US Army, holding the rank of Lt. Colonel when he retired. High Priest, Grand Master, and Lieutenant Colonel. We Break the Sword is virtual reality, but played out on the flat screen of ideas that are deeper than either the occultist or the soldier alone can understand.

It almost makes me long for the days of vacuum tubes and easy enemies, when our understanding of politics and war was as monochrome as our TV sets. If that is the perspective that makes you most comfortable (and believe me, I sympathize), then perhaps this book will be the equivalent of literary LSD. If you are cool with alternate theories of the universe, then you know that alternate theories of history are sure to follow. In that case, this book is less LSD than it is a gentle high of sensory distortion.

Either way, after reading this book and coming to grips with its details (come on! I mean, The Bell? The Philadelphia Experiment? Atlantis?) you will find your consciousness expanded. Imagine: what if everything Joseph Farrell has written was true, but only from a very specific -- and decidedly very Nazi -- perspective?

In the end, though, none of it happened. Hitler didn't use the Bell for peaceful -- albeit sneaky -- purposes. Germany lost the war. The Allies cut the country in half. What we are experiencing today in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, and even in the United States, is the result of that catastrophe. The scenario provided in We Break the Sword would be comical if the alternative had not been so tragic.

Aquino's latest book may provoke fierce arguments in some quarters, but it presents a thesis that should not be ignored. Using Hitler and World War Two as a context, what if a political leader -- a dictator, a prime minister, a president -- came to her or his senses and stopped short of dropping the bomb, invading the country, assassinating the opposition and instead made everyone's head spin by suggesting a truce that would last a thousand years? And what if that dictator, prime minister, president possessed a weapon that was so powerful it reduced the levels of anxiety, aggression and hostility to next to nothing, to enable the truce to be signed?

More importantly: would we care who had that weapon, and who used it, if the end result was the same?

Discuss.

A fantastic read! Dr. Aquino does not disappoint!
By Jordan Hammonds
Dr. Aquino has penned a masterpiece with _We Break The Sword_. A truly clever blend of fiction, history, and a great many optimistic "what ifs," this book is an incredibly fun read that is enriching for both the mind and soul. Dr. Aquino has always been one of those rare few people who can manage to fully entertain while keeping his audience's mind thinking at the same time. This book does not disappoint. While bringing the historical characters to life and in a new light, this book is sure to also keep your mind exploring in new directions of thought. The only regretful part about this book is when the reader reaches the end and wishes history would have played out as it had on these pages.

If it was not for that nasty Churchill and Roosevelt it would have been springtime for Hitler
